Since August 2015, I have been the engagement editor for Bizwomen, a national news website affiliated with American City Business Journals, based in Charlotte.
I edit and publish five newsletters a week, manage most of the social media for the site, and post curated stories for the website. I also use my creative content savvy to create alternative storytelling for the site (graphics, quizzes, videos and other interactive features).
At The State Media Co., (a McClatchy newspaper and website based in Columbia, SC), I drove features content in print and online, posting specialized content on celebrities, food, entertainment and lifestyle. I also took roles in the newsroom to improve our social media strategy and online initiatives.
In 2013-2014, I served as president of the Society for Features Journalism, the national organization of lifestyle, arts and entertainment and lifestyle editors, writers and producers. My work in the organization includes doing the paperwork to establish an affiliated foundation.
